Well, here it is. Someone finally got around to one of those things that we are always talking about and never getting done. I'm hopgin that this newsletter will get longer as time goes by, but I'm going to ned help with it. So, in this issue I will do what I can and insert descriptions in the areas where I need help. By the way, as far as a "subscription" is concerned, tell me you want it and try to help with postage or something once in a while. That's all I ask.

Rune Information- - -here's one of the places where I need help. While I can recognize the runes and pretty much keep them straight in my own head, I do not trust my knowledge to try teaching others, and I don't want to take the information out of one book and ignore the other references. So those of you who have a lot more knowledge about the runes than I do (KVEDULF!), send me a short description of each one or something that I can put in here :)

Gods & Goddesses- - -While I'm a little more comfortable with my understanding of the Gods and Goddesses, I want to keep the newsletter sort of like meetings, where we look at one rune and the Gods and Goddesses associated with it.

Matters of Interest- - -

WASCO, CALIFORNIA-AsaTru inmates are being discriminated against. They are not being allowed to practice their rites or receive religious materials through the mail. I will bring the .letter we received to all meetings (I've started a file for inmate letters) so you can read it for yourself. Start thinking about letters you can send to get this situation changed. We have the Warden's Address, by the way.

Calendar- - -Hopefully, I can get this formed into a real calendar page for the next issue, but right now, here are some dates you may need to know...

June 24-27, 1999 AFA Gathering of the Tribes/AA Regional Thing

August 13-15, 1999 AA Althing (Ogden, Utah)

Other Stuff- - -Depending on how ambitious we all are, this could be just about anything; cross words, word searches, poems, personal announcements, gripes, etc., etc., etc...

Here's a little something to get the ball rolling. I think we got this from Ragnar at some point, but it makes a good point. Anyone who was at Althing last year should find it especially appropriate...

Final Word

So this is it untill it gets better. But think of this, isn't this rinky-dink newsletter that was written on a typewriter (yet I said a TYPEWRITER!) better than what we had before you checked your mail today? And the more help I get, the better the newsletter will get. Think of the possibilities... movie and book reviews, recipes, poetry, practical information, not-so-practical information... Just about anything...
