CHAPTER HONOUR: WarHammer 40,000 for Quake

Quake 40,000 Total Conversion Beta Program

Wouldn't you like to play a Space Marine from the Games Workshop WarHammer 40,000 universe in the Quake game world?

Space Marines in the 41st Millenium... Join or Die!

We are currently actively involved in the Chapter Honour WarHammer 40,000 Total Conversion for Quake Beta Test program...... This promises to be an incredible addition to the Quake gaming world when it is finally released. This is going to be GREAT!

Chapter Honour runs very well in singleplayer mode and looks great. Being a Space Marine of the Space Wolves, Ultramarines, Dark Angels, or Blood Angels Chapters in the Quake game world gives it a whole new feel. There's something very satisfying about blowing away Dark Angels Space Marines as a Space Wolves Space Marine.

The game also supports two modes in multiplay: Normal Team/DeathMatch mode, and Tabletop Play mode. Normal mode is mostly the same as DeathMatch/Cooperative in standard Quake, only with 40k models and theme, whereas Tabletop Mode is an excellent reproduction of the manner in which WarHammer 40,000 is played with miniatures on a table. Both modes are very well done with excellent playability and an appearance that will knock your socks off.

Almost all of the weapons, armour, and wargear -from jump packs to vortex grenades- that could possibly be useful to a Space Marine are found in Chapter Honour, including heavy weapons, Terminator Armour, and the important Characters. My personal favourite is a Space Wolves Wolf Guard Terminator Sergeant with Assault Cannon and Chainfist.

The game mechanics from Quake have been changed a bit for Chapter Honour, and it's greatly improved play in my opinion. When you make an attack, the computer randomly generates die rolls for all combatants according to the rules from the Games Workshop WarHammer 40,000 manuals, determines hit/miss according to those die rolls, and allocates damage accordingly, including armour saves and strength/toughness wound rolls. It works amazingly well, and the die rolls are displayed at the top of the screen as they occur. The same rules from the Hand to Hand combat phase are also applied, which makes HtH much more deadly for the player versus monsters in Chapter Honour. Players are more likely to die, so you have to play more carefully. Pretty cool, actually. The combat rules are very accurate to the mechanics from WarHammer 40,000... I am very impressed with this project and honoured to be a part of the team.

There are still a few minor bugs to be worked out, but overall the project is very good. It plays very well, is great fun, it looks incredible, and we're having a blast working on it. We've discovered a couple new problems that have postponed release, but it won't be long before you'll see the WarHammer 40,000 Total Conversion for Quake on store shelves. Look for it soon!
