Languishing between the rolling foam,

I lose myself in a sky of soothing complexity.

Thundering blackness sounds in the silence beneath my feet.

The roses have all withered and I'm wrapped in envy. Why couldn't I?

Floating rythmically down another thought that rolls from your tongue...

I gather myself in a frothy dance and twirl away like a fluffy seed.

Wind captures the stillness and eases it from my fingers.

I fall through your fantasy and cling tenaciously to a single memory.

Like a slow hypnotic note, I sink back into your skin

and feel you tremble...just trying to breathe.

I can taste the night fleeing from your eyes,

Like flickering shadows I'm released and in a burning frenzy,

seek out the chaos lurking in my soul and set it free.

I eat everyone I ever thought needed it and watch them cringe in a cage.

Like trapped pests that have already been poisoned

and are trying to escape the frightening last spasms of death.

With gleaming teeth I pace around and do not kill a rising tension.

As I quake and scream, the stars threaten to cease their existance.

With a panic, light creeps up and forces me to cower with bitterness,

and with a sigh, I spread my wings and leap into the air, leaving behind me,

nothing of consequence.
