Some before photos - this is exactly as it came home.

The insides were really not too bad, just needed cleaning, and the usual recap,

 replacing out of spec resistors and an alignment.  The tubes were even good.

New veneer on the top and left side, removing old finish elsewhere, followed

by grain filling, toning lacquer, clear lacquer and a rub down.  The dark bars

for the speaker grille and the base were achieved by masking off and spraying

toning lacquer to darken partially, the removing the tape and going over the

whole radio.

The finished product.  Lucky for me I had a spare escutcheon.  The knobs and

push buttons are quality reproductions as was the grille cloth.
