Sensei
James Field (on right side of this picture), seventh degree black belt is
registered with the Japan Karate Association (JKA) Tokyo, Japan and the International
Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF). He was one of the first four Americans to
become a certified JKA instructor. He has been teaching karate for more than 20
years and has been chief instructor at UCLA since 1972.
Sensei
James Field is also an internationally famous competitor. He was captain of the
U.S. International Karate Team, National Collegiate Champion, U.S.
Representative to the Olympic Games in Mexico and 3rd place in the 1976 World
Tournament. He was also assistant coach of the U.S. Team for the 1983, 1992,
1993 and 1994 All Japan Tournament in Tokyo.
